First things first.
Before you look at the cost of tuition and try to decide such things as how your child will get to school, or what uniforms to purchase, you must determine if a Christian education is the right thing for your child. If so, you must then decide if Veritas is the right school for your child and for your family. The following list of Ideas to Consider has been adapted from the discoverchristianschools.com website:
1. There are basically two kingdoms: a kingdom of light and a kingdom of darkness. It seems strange to have those who walk in darkness and who refuse to acknowledge the light educate a child of light. It doesn't fit.
2. If Jesus Christ is Lord, then He is Lord of all. We cannot compartmentalize the training of children into secular and sacred. In other words, we receive instruction in the sacred at Sunday services and mid-week Bible studies or youth groups and everything else we need to know is of a secular nature. No, there is not one atom of creation over which Jesus is not Lord.
3. All truth is God's truth, and He reveals Himself to us through special revelation, His Word and His Son, and through general revelation, creation. God's Word sheds light on our path. Education is not focused on possibilities but on certainties found in God's Word.
4. Deuteronomy 6 tells parents that, in all they do, they should provide a Godly education 24/7.
5. Three key institutions that shape a child are the home, the church and the school. Children are served best when all three institutions point them in the same direction.
6. Only an education that has the liberty to address the whole child -- social, intellectual, emotional, physical AND spiritual -- reaches the possibility of excellence.
7. The best preparation for effective service is to be well grounded in one's mind before direct engagement of the culture.
The decision regarding from whom your child will receive their education is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. Your choice must consider the quality of education and the impact that education will have on their foundational beliefs. What they believe about God, the world, and morality will directly impact who they are to become. There is no decision more important than deciding the kind of academic, social, and spiritual training they will receive, for few decisions will impact your child more for the rest of their lives than this.
